SATRE - INTERVIEW

Today London based songwriter SATRE released his debut single “summerglow”. With influences such as Bon Iver and Frank Ocean SATRE creates Alternative Pop with a feeling of melancholy and nostalgia along with lyrics dealing with everything from the darkest moments in life that we often shy away from talking about to the brightest moments that most of us take for granted.

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden now based in London, UK SATRE started pursuing his passion for music at the early age of 8.

Spending his teenage years as a member of multiple bands SATRE decided to continue his musical journey as a solo act and relocated to London, UK at the end of 2018.

After finding his feet in London SATRE eventually started writing songs in a new headspace combining the stillness and of Swedish nature and the pulse of British city life. With a new mindset and a collection of old and newly written songs SATRE set up a home studio and started to learn how to record by himself when the world was set on pause in 2020.

“summerglow” is an emotional ballad that catches the bittersweet feeling of when a part of life must end to give room for another to begin.

With the help of producer Joel Holm the song got a stunning arrangement and a influence of lush and atmospheric electronic elements combined with traditional guitar picking.

The song is accompanied with an ambitious and captivating music video written and directed by SATRE’s sibling Gabriel Sätre and their mutual friend Gustav Holm.

Recorded in the southern suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden the music video deals with the feeling of loss and blame.
